One of the most powerful things coaching offers isn’t advice.

It’s perspective.

Often, people come into a conversation believing they have already considered every possible angle.

They’ve replayed the situation.

Thought through the options.

Wondered what they should have done differently.

And yet, they still feel stuck.

Sometimes the reason isn’t a lack of answers.

It’s that we’ve become so close to the situation that we can only see it from one point of view.

Perspective has a way of creating space.

It reminds us that there may be another explanation.

Another opportunity.

Another possibility we hadn’t considered.

This doesn’t mean pretending difficult situations are easy.

It means recognizing that our first interpretation is not always our only one.

A challenge can also be a teacher.

A setback can become preparation.

An unexpected change can create room for something we never would have chosen—but ultimately value.

The circumstances may remain the same.

But how we understand them can completely change the way we move through them.

The next time you find yourself feeling stuck, try asking:

“Is there another way I could look at this?”

Sometimes that single question is enough to open a door that felt closed.
