YOUR MIND IS YOUR BEST FRIEND. BUT IT CAN ALSO BE YOUR WORST ENEMY

 Are you struggling with…

  • Feeling like an imposter
  • Increased stress & uncertainty
  • Trying to control people or situations
  • Saying yes when you want to say no
  • Judging yourself or others
  • Avoiding difficult conversations
  • Procrastinating more than you think you should
  • Feeling overwhelmed

The source of these problems is not a lack of training or skill, it’s a lack of mental fitness.

/ˈmen(t)l ˈfitnəs/

noun: mental fitness

The ability to respond to life’s challenges with a positive mindset.

 Introducing: Positive Intelligence (PQ)

You may have gone through trainings that created short lived positivity that fizzled soon after you’ve completed it, but our program is designed to last a lifetime by empowering you.

Recent breakthroughs in neuroscience and behavior management reveal a proven process for bringing out the best in people consistently and bringing an increased resilience to their work through mental fitness.

 From Surviving to Thriving

Research has revealed that there are 10 negative response factors (10 saboteurs) and only 5 positive response factors (5 sage powers). Understanding these root factors dramatically simplifies both personal and professional development because we’re rewiring the brain at the root level rather than treating symptoms.

How are you currently dealing with

  • anxiety
  • stress
  • self-doubt
  • anger
  • shame
  • guilt
  • frustration

Are you merely surviving with negative emotions that are only helpful for a second as they alert you to dangers? Staying in these emotions limit your ability to see clearly and choose the most impactful response.

Wouldn’t you rather live with positive emotions while handling life’s challenges? Those emotions include

  • empathy
  • compassion
  • gratitude
  • curiosity
  • the joy of creativity
  • calm, clear-headed, laser-focused action

Wire your brain for creativity and big picture awareness of what’s important to discover your best course of action.

You Have the Power

Scientists and psychologists are now able to pinpoint the regions of the brain involved in producing different thoughts or feelings and identify the neural functions involved with the activation of positive and negative thoughts in PQ. If your negative thoughts have become an automatic habit, that’s a saboteur.

Your saboteurs generate all your negative emotions including…

  • Saying yes when you want to say no
  • Judging yourself or others
  • Avoiding difficult conversations
  • Procrastinating more than you think you should.

Mental fitness requires the ability to intercept and discredit the saboteurs.

Start increasing your Positive Intelligence by taking the free saboteur assessment. This assessment will tell you which of your saboteurs are most active for you personally.

    * There is no obligation. The button below will also take you to our partner’s website for the assessment.

Now that you’ve identified your saboteurs, it’s time to meet the muscles that will help you rewire your brain.

    Saboteur interceptor muscle

    Self command muscle

    Sage muscle

Mental fitness is a measure of your mental muscles, your sage versus the negative. The saboteurs react to challenges in ways that generate negative emotions. Your sage handles challenges through positive emotions. The relative strength of your positive sage versus negative saboteurs is called PQ. The positive intelligence quotient and PQ is a measure of mental fitness. It’s a predictor of how happy you are and how well you perform relative to your potential. Research shows that PQ significantly increases with practice and habits.

    Clients say…

“At the beginning of this program, I did not know what was possible…All I knew was I needed to be intentional about growing my Sage muscles and diminish my saboteurs…I fully embraced and committed myself to do this during a very busy time in my life…Time and time again the videos and audio exercises….reminded me to be patient, understand I was building something within, empathy toward myself and others and, of course, becoming aware of my judge and other saboteurs. I still have work to do and have the resources to continue on this journey of building healthy relationships, bringing my best self to whatever I do and finding peace and harmony..”

    Cathy Wickersham

    Executive Assistant, Microsoft

“Kathy was a great executive coach at a time when the environment with COVID and remote working was taking the world to new places. Managing a team remotely brought about new challenges and the strategies and tools that Kathy shared helped me to best support my team, clients and business overall!”

    Jeff Paine

    Managing Director, PS Engage

“I would highly encourage other professionals to look into the PQ program and coaching with Kathy. I feel like several of my coworkers and close friends struggle with similar issues (imposter syndrome, struggling to make sense of why we react so viscerally to specific people/actions, how to build better/meaningful relationships etc.) Kathy and the PQ program have helped me work though some of this and I feel more inspired to continue working on myself with the tools learned.”

    8 Weeks Towards Positive Intelligence

    WEEK 1

    Welcome and program introduction:
Get clear on your goals and desired outcomes for the program and recognize what might derail your practice and how you will manage with it. Meet your group and decide the working norms for the group.

    WEEK 2

    Establish a self-command practice:
Master implementing innovative 10-second exercises called PQ Reps that boost your self-command skills. Self-command is key to intercepting unhelpful mental habits and building new neural pathways to respond rather than react.

    WEEK 3

    Intercept the judge saboteur:
Learn how to intercept and weaken the most damaging saboteur, the judge. Discover how self-judgment and judging others and circumstances is a key source of stress and self-limiting performance.

    WEEK 4

    Intercept accomplice saboteurs:
Take the saboteur assessment and learn to intercept and weaken the top accomplice to your judge saboteurs: avoider, controller, hyper-achiever, hyper-rational, hyper-vigilant, pleaser, restless, stickler, victim. Expose your accomplice saboteur’s hidden lies, limiting beliefs and negative patterns.

    WEEK 5

Shift from saboteur to sage mindset:
Strengthen your sage, the counterpart to your saboteurs. Your sage lives in an entirely different region of your brain, generates all your positive emotions, and achieves peak performance through a calm and clear mind.

    WEEK 6

    Strengthen the sage:
Cultivate the five sage powers (empathy, exploration, innovation, navigation, and activation) that form the emotional intelligence competencies crucial to success. Learn how to shift your mindset to see any situation as an opportunity.

    WEEK 7

    Practice the sage powers:
Use your sage’s navigation and activation powers to take clear-headed, laser-focused, decisive action aligned with meaning and purpose. Discover how your sage generates your highest performance while enjoying every step of the process.

    WEEK 8

    Sustain the Momentum:
Learn to continue using your PQ tools for a variety of work and life applications to solidify peak performance, effective communication, stress management, conflict mitigation, and relationship building.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Is this the right program for me?

This is the right program for you if you are:
    a) committed to improving your performance and effectiveness dramatically while reducing stress,
    b) looking for a science-based and trusted system to make it stick, and
    c) willing to put in the initial effort to rewire years of mental habits that don’t serve you.

    Aren't negative emotions sometimes helpful?

Some people believe that negative emotions are helpful. For example, they think stress gives them their performance edge, or beating themselves or others up is helpful for continual improvement.

Feeling pain for a split second when your hand touches a hot stove is indeed useful, delivering an important alert. But your Saboteurs keep your hand on the hot stove, continuing to feel negative emotions which harm both performance and happiness.

In this program we learn to use negative emotions as a helpful alert, and then quickly shift to the positive region of the brain that has the calm clarity, objectivity, and creativity to handle the challenge most effectively.

Who will lead the Positive Intelligence® Program?

Kathy Pearce, CPC, PCC will personally facilitate each of the accountability group meetings and will be available to you at all times to answer questions.

Shirzad Chamine, author of Positive Intelligence, will conduct each of the weekly video sessions. Shirzad will also participate daily in the exclusive online community of the program participants to answer questions, provide coaching, and cheer you on.

How much time and effort is required?

You’d be committing to watching a 1-hour video once per week and doing a combined total of 15 minutes per day of practice guided by the Positive Intelligence app exclusively designed for this program. In addition, you’ll have a weekly accountability group meeting that will last no more than an hour.

This might sound like a lot of time. In fact, cumulatively, it constitutes less than 2% of your awake time for the duration of the program. Please consider that your Saboteurs are costing you far more than 2% of your time, effort, energy, and productivity. Consider how much more than 2% of time and productivity this eight-weeks investment will save for years to come.

How is this different from reading the book?

You’d never learn to ride a bicycle by reading a book about it. You’ll be asked to read the first 8 chapters of the book while participating in the program. The book provides the research foundation and introduces the tools. The video session guides you through experiential exercises that help you personalize the tools to your own personality and needs. And the app coaches you to practice one tool at a time in the context of your own daily work and life challenges.

What is the goal you want to achieve within the 8 week program?

Your goal is your own. There is no right or wrong. The “why” is extremely important. Please consider what your goal is so you can share this with your accountability pod.

Should we participate as a team?

Even though the focus of the program is individual development, team leaders often call this experience the best team building experience they have ever had. Going through this program together significantly deepens trust, helps clear the air related to recurrent team member conflicts since they’re mostly generated by Saboteurs, and gives the entire team a common framework for helping each other grow, making decisions, responding to setbacks, and managing conflicting styles and agendas. In most cases Leadership Teams choose to go through as an intact team due to these benefits.

Do you have corporate or group discounts?

Yes, if you would like to purchase the Positive Intelligence® program for your employees, or any group of 8 people and above, please schedule time with Kathy Pearce or email me at info@kathypearce.com
